| My old boots are tired! |
I know it's silly, they are just an article of clothing, but these boots have protected my feet on trail rides in the Colorado mountains; training colts to run on the racetrack; on our journey across the US looking for a new place to farm; as we broke ground on Foxbriar Farm; and now, they run me through the Craft Village at the Ozark Folk Center everyday.
You can't just throw a pair of boots that anchor all those memories into the trash. And honestly, they are worn out, so I can't pass them on to anyone, either.
So, with the help of Country Outfitter, (an awesome Arkansas company) I'm going to have you all help me figure out an appropriate retirement for my beloved boots. And, along with helping me, out, you have a chance to win your own new pair of boots.

I entered. How about you get them set into a shadow box. You could write memories of adventures in the boots and have that on display in there as well.
Turn them into a shadow box of sorts. Put pictures of places you've been or things you've done in them along with a lace & piece of the leather.
Bronze them and display them at the Folk Center!

Let's see...I think a great retirement for your boots would be to incorporate them into one of your gardens as a planter for a pretty flower. I can't wait to see what you decide on though!
I was going to say use as a flower pot too, but saw someone had already suggested it. Maybe an herb garden!

Fill them full of buckshot and use them for bookends (or doorstops). You would probably want to top them off with plaster of paris (does anyone still use that, or am I showing my age?) or some sort of liquid resin that would harden and prevent the shot from spilling out.

I just entered , but I think you should just display your boots on a shelf in your house with other treasured items so you and everyone else can always see them
I would use them in a shed or outside in the garden to hold gardening tools!
